Preparing our students for their senior secondary education and beyond is of paramount importance for us at DMSC. Our teaching and ancillary staff work with students in small classes to provide the best possible oppurtunities for each individual student.
Our Junior School curriculum is dedicated to preparing students for success later in their secondary school and education lives. Small class sizes and enthusiastic staff ensure that students are engaged in their classes, and access to elective classes including drama, woodwork/metalwork, art and cooking in years 8 and 9 allow students to explore their interests. Individual Learning Plans are developed for our students in consultation with parents in order to assist the staff in providing an education tailored to each student's needs.
We offer a broad range of subjects at the VCE level, with the oppurtunity to conduct video classes with schools across the region using state-of-the-art video conferencing facilities. This enables our students to collaborate with students in other schools and to gain access to subjects other than those offered in Dimboola.
Options for VCAL students are abounding at DMSC. Our VCAL students are often seen present in the local community working on community projects (such as seating for the town swimming pool and catering for community events). A Personal Development Skills (PDS) class is a part of the curriculum, enabling the students to develop their worklplace skills in preperation for part-time work or an apprenticeship.
We host two VET programs at DMSC as well as our students having access to other courses across the Wimmera. Our facilities in hospitality and building are both used weekly for respective VET courses, which are attended by students from Dimboola and Nhill.
