Principal's Report - Tuesday 2nd August 2016
Many thanks to the 23 families who have already returned their surveys! Can I please ask that if you still have your survey at home, could you fill it in and return it to school before this Thursday – August 4th. Remember that there is a hamper to give away – your name will be entered when the survey is returned!
Parent Teacher Interviews
Last night we hosted our second round of Parent Teacher Interviews for 2016. I was thrilled with the amount of families who came and met with their child’s teachers and I have already received very positive feedback from both staff and parents. For those of you who have asked to be contacted by a staff member who was not present last night, those teachers will be in touch this week and next, to discuss your child’s progress. Please also remember that you can call any time and make an appointment with our staff to discuss any issues/questions that you may have regarding the school program.
Thank You Breakfast
Last Wednesday we hosted a “Thank You Breakfast” for local business people as a way of thanking them for their ongoing support of the school. While the numbers were down – it was great to welcome people from the community and also DMSC staff to share in an absolutely scrumptious morning feast! Well done to the VETiS Hospitality students and teacher Cat Clarke, who put together a delicious menu – and they should be congratulated for getting to school by 6.00am in order to prepare.
Final Restaurant Night
Wednesday August 17 is our final DMSC restaurant night for 2016. These events are now firmly entrenched on the Dimboola social calendar and I look forward to seeing another big crowd enjoying some sensational food. Tables are already on sale – please contact the office to reserve a place. (Numbers are limited.)
Welcome back to our Year 9s – what a wonderful
week you had! Thank you again to Kristin Klinge,
Lachy Watts and Neil Zippel for accompanying our
students – and please see a full report later in this week's newsletter.
German Poetry Competition
Good luck to our students who are competing in a German Poetry Competition at Horsham College tomorrow. I know they have been practising very hard and we are sure they will do well. Thank you to Sally Klinge and Marcy Britten who are accompanying the students.
