Principal's Report - Tuesday 15th March 2016

I hope all of you enjoyed a relaxing long weekend – and we are now less than two weeks from the end of term! Just a reminder that our Athletics Standards are scheduled for this Friday – weather permitting – and parents are most welcome to attend. The Deb Ball is on March 24th, with tickets available from the General Office.

Progress Reports and Parent Teacher Interviews

This Friday, you will receive the Progress Report for your children here at DMSC. Please take the time to discuss the report with your son or daughter so you are well informed about how they are travelling in all of their subjects here at school. Next Monday afternoon, we will be having the first of our Parent Teacher Interviews for 2016, at which time you can speak with your child’s teachers in more detail about their progress in class. I am hoping that a representative from all families is able to attend these interviews next week. Please note that the interviews will be in the Science and Language Centre – not in the Hall. If you cannot make the interviews, please contact your child’s Year Level Coordinator or the relevant classroom teacher to make an alternate time, or to discuss their progress over the phone.

This year we will be holding our ANZAC Day commemorative service on Friday April 22, commencing at 2.45pm. All parents and friends of DMSC are invited to join us for this service and more information will be published in the next few editions of the newsletter. On ANZAC Day itself, there will be two services here at the college, the Dawn Service at 6.00am, followed by a free breakfast onsite, then the march and more formal service, commencing at 8.30am. This year marks the 100th anniversary of the first ANZAC Day service and we hope to see many members of our community in attendance.

SMART Sessions
These wonderful sessions are growing in popularity and we are hoping that all students make the most of this opportunity. Remember that students have access to teaching staff, internet and photocopying and afternoon tea is provided!
